Mr Rowan has over twenty-six year’s environmental experience initially as a regulatory officer and technical specialist for UK Waste Regulation Authorities but for most of his career, in the private sector as a consultant to many multi-national corporations from all industry sectors. Mr. Rowan heads EAME’s Environmental Service Division where he is the Managing Director and founder of the business, working with a team he started to build 15 years ago and who continue to work together. Steve is based in the UK but works for clients all over the world on a wide variety of projects. He has extensive experience in many environmental disciplines including environmental baseline studies and impact assessments, audits, site characterisation and remediation, industrial permitting, environmental risk assessment, resource efficiency, waste management, environmental monitoring and environmental risk management. He has performed these works at chemical and petrochemical plants, landfill and waste treatment sites, engineering plants, minerals facilities, ferrous and non-ferrous metals plants, electronics facilities and a range of specialist industrial plants.
He has been retained as an expert witness in Northern Ireland for the EHS, by private individuals facing regulatory sanctions, by major industrial companies and developers in public meetings and socio-economic debates, written national landfill gas assessment guidance and presented papers on a variety of subjects at national and international
conferences.
Prior to joining EAME, Mr Rowan was a senior partner in a large, highly respected global environmental and health sciences consultancy.
