EAME has identified Guyana, the third smallest country in South America and culturally more aligned to the Caribbean than Latin America, as a key growth market following the Liza oil discovery off the coast of Guyana. These oil revenues will have a substantial beneficial effect on Guyana (GDP: $3.166 billion, 2015) which is the third poorest country in Latin American and the Caribbean, where in 2015, agriculture, forestry, fishing and mining industries accounted for 28 percent of total GBP.
EAME has demonstrable experience of delivering strategically important infrastructure projects in developing countries and EAME has been providing consulting services to private developers across a wide range of technical disciplines and sectors and is currently involved with feasibility and technical studies of several strategically important infrastructure projects in Guyana including masterplanning and Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) of a 5,000-acre port and freezone logistics hub development, redevelopment of coconut and sugarcane plantations as well as the refurbishment and expansion of several rice mills and associated port berths.
Consequently, EAME has been heavily engaged with Guyanese stakeholders such as the Environment Protection Agency (EPA), the Ministry of Natural Resources, Ministry of Infrastructure, Mangrove Restoration Project (part of the Ministry of Agriculture), Maritime Administration Department, Guyana Land and Survey Commission and Ministry of Business.
In accordance with Part II, Section 4 (3a) of the Environmental Protection Act, 1996, EAME has registered with the EPA to practice locally as an independent Environmental Consultant.
